Driver Safety Training
Corporate Manslaughter Act, 2008
As an employer you have an obligation to carry out a risk assessment for your employees at work who may be affected by their work activities. This includes driving activities.
What happens if you do not react?
Removal of company records
National publicity regarding conviction
Possible imprisonment
Unlimited fine
As an employer you now have an obligation to ensure that your employees are properly trained in the equipment they use for work – this includes the motor vehicle.

These requirements apply regardless of whether the employees are true company vehicle drivers or part of the 'grey fleet' driving thier own car.

Your course of action:
Have in place a working company driver's policy
Operate a driver's risk assessment
Driver training
Check drivers documents regularly
Ensure the vehicle is suitable for task in hand
Driver training is the most efficient manner in which to assess drivers and to train them to be safe on the road. It can be both fun as well as informative. Our courses assist in a team building spirit as well as portraying an employer's caring attitude.

In addition to practical training sessions, theoretical classroom-based training can be taken to any location to suit the client.

These include a classroom session covering ‘Health & Safety’ an understanding of the ‘Corporate Manslaughter Bill’ plus an overview of the individual companies driving policy. Completely bespoke solutions can also be provided to match your organisations exact requirments.

The emphasis of our training is to give the driver a better understanding of the motor vehicle and to heighten their hazard perception awareness.

Other activities include:
Close quarter car handling and control as well as space awareness.
Emergency manoeuvres including use of ABS and ESP
Skid control and required driver input using our unique skid training car
